Waiting in Progress...

It will be 38 weeks now in 3 days' time. Have started my maternity leave since last Mon and boy! it has been such a tiring wk and a half. I would have Georgie coming into the rm at 8am and waking me up for his routined fun and play. And it would continue till late afternoon @ 3 plus for his nap, before the usual bathtime, porridge time, tv time, play time that goes all the way to 8, 9pm at nite b4 he sleeps. (He now chooses me over maid for his daily activities..) And the cycle begins again the next day.  So totally different fr what many pple expected abt maternity leave: shopping for bb stuff, catching up with friends over afternoon tea, doing mani and pedi, relaxing in bed with books on motherhood. I had little or in fact none of this! Boo hoo...!!

Went for my check-up last Wed. Doc says baby weighed a shocking 3kg at 36 plus wks. 300g abv ave. However, I was quite at ease aft knowing fr my mum that my bro was also a heavy baby at birth. But just look at his size now! - He's the skinnest among the 3 of my siblings. Just hoping that delivery will be easy. It should be... given that I have been squatting, kneeling, walking, to accompany Georgie in the day.

Managed to squeeze my last shopping for bb stuff last Sat. Bought a mini play pen to put in my tiny bedroom. Went to Carrefour to buy some drawers for Audrey's clothes, prepared my delivery bag oredi.... Bought herbs for bathing during confinement, ordered my confinement food, bought Georgie a present which is supposedly from his mei mei, stand-by some chicken essence in case I have contractions during the night (can glup down to store energy for pushing).... This time round, will be doing confinement all by myself since I'm staying by my own. It will be tough for my mum to come over every single day. I can make it!

Bought Georgie for his pre-school open house last Sat. As usual, he always takes quite a while to warm up. Georgie actually has a warm personality. However, when in the midst of unfamiliar faces, esp kids, he will be super careful and cautious and has withdrawal symptoms.
For e.g., he would choose some toys he likes and play by himself at 1 corner of the table. Was quite a worrying sight until I saw how he begins to talk and start a conversation with the teacher who came by alongside, and he starts to be a chatterbox out of a sudden.

Both of us are quite surprised by his behavior. I'm still trying to read up more on this. But hopefully, things will start getting better once his school term starts end of July. At least, what's heartening to know is that he started dancing alongside other kids during last Sun's playgroup in church. An improvement!

Not sure if this would be my last blog entry before I go off to the hospital. Meanwhile, do pray for me... Am nervous, but excited as well. Still quite overwhelmed about what's to come...

Be blessed you all!
