Chinese New Year Is Coming!

It's the time of the year again... when it's time to distribute Ang Pows. In fact, I've already started planning since last year Oct, as I'll always receive my sales commission 2 mths after I'v closed the deals... I 'chionged' very hard during Nov so that I can have more than enough for Ang Pows during this festive season.

Come to think of it... Since becoming parents, CNY has become a totally different festive season for me. When I was still single or even married w/o kids, I would be super excited to do my hair, buy new clothes, do mani and pedicure, go on late night movies during CNY eve with my pak-tor, after movies would be supper time till 3-4am before going back home to catch a short sleep and appear with panda eyes during CNY Day 1... These 2 years were so different for me... I think I would focus on buying some new clothes for George, new shoes... and CNY eve would be a time when me and hubby would stay in the room to pack Ang Pows before Reunion Dinner so that we can give to my in-laws. Anyway, as usual, this year, as the same as other previous years, we would be going back to Jakarta. I'm feeling excited, as I could finally take a break from my work, yet at the same time nervous, as we would be bringing Georgie on the plane - this time round, a much active and 'walking-around' Georgie. I wonder if he could stay still on his seat on board. Anyway, 'Pondok Laguna' here I come! They serve the best Indonesian food and seafood... Yummy!! J-Co, Massage, Hair Spa, Cream Bath... Yeah!!!

Renovation work at my new house has started few weeks ago. Though I didn't really update on the progress, both of us were really excited as we wait in anticipation for the final product. We were happy that we could find a designer who has almost the same taste as us. Much need not be explained and briefed and re-briefed again. Somehow, she knew what we want and her suggestions were very logical, practical, yet not compromising on the aesthetics part.

Finances were a challenge for us during this period. As similar for other young families who went through a time of building their 1st love nest together, we just got to trust in God, literally day by day for His provision. Yo has always been a person with an eye for excellence and great aesthetics. Not saying that I'm not, but I would tend to be more practical and somehow down-to-earth when it comes to budget-planning. There were times when we have to live with the fact that there are going to be some furniture that we have to live w/o in the beginning. But I took heart when I always remembered what my mum said: 'It's ok not to have a complete set of furniture in the beginning. Just get the basics - when you two slowly add in the pieces as your finances increase, you will definitely appreciate and cherish even more, with a greater sense of satisfaction.' I thank God for her wisdom.

One of the days while Yo was driving, he told me he asked God how he can have peace in his heart. The reply came saying: 'You do not have peace because you trust in money and material things. Trust in Me because I am the Prince of Peace. Peace is a Person and I am He.' That changes us. I could say that we are now more settled in our heart when we are managing with our finances.

Nonetheless, we are very confident that our future home will be a really beautiful home. Can't wait to hold house-warming parties real soon... but that has to wait till we get our sofa to host all our friends... and TV.... and Dining table... and PSP ... and DVD player (oh, that's a must. Georgie needs that for his Barney and Thomas & Friends show) Anyway, the list goes on and on. hahaha :p
