Fetal Development - 22 Weeks Pregnant

I can't believe the progress! I'm already 2 weeks to the end of my 2nd trimester. Looking forward to see my bb girl real soon. And I've not prepared any bb stuff yet - my shopping's not done at all, which is supposed to be done during 2nd trim.

Anyway, I'm reading more during this pregnancy. Probably I just want to be better prepared this time round and do a better confinement. Always felt that my body's not as strong as before my 1st pregnancy. Anyway, I've lost track of my weight gain. Or should I say, I decided not to be bothered by it anymore. Oops, am I on the road to self-despair? Haha! No lah, I just wanna stay happy so that I can have a happy bb...

This morning, I was having my DHA Fish Oil supplement pill as usual. It's said to be able to help in the brain development of the bb. I accidentally broke the plastic/transparent capsule and the fish oil spurt onto my chin and neck! I didn't realise that the fish oil was SO OILY till then. I had to wash my face with facial wash and soap 2 to 3 times to get rid of the greasy feel, and the worst thing is I carried a fishy smell for the whole morning in office (It's those lingering smell that stayed on fishmongers). No perfume seems to ease the intensity. O man!!

"The baby now weighs almost one pound/ 430 grams, measures nearly 11 inches/ just over 27 centimeters long from crown to heel, and is proportioned like a newborn, albeit a thinner version since her baby fat hasn't yet developed. Although she's getting heavier every day, her skin still appears wrinkled because she needs to gain more weight. The lips are distinct and the eyes are formed, though the iris (the colored part of the eye) still lacks pigment. The pancreas, essential in the production of hormones, is developing steadily. Even this early, the first signs of teeth appear in the form of tooth buds beneath the gum line. Before you know it, your baby will be born, and soon after, her first teeth will come through.

You've probably gained between 12 and 15 pounds/ 5.4 and 6.8 kilograms. Starting now, you'll begin to put on weight more steadily, averaging about half a pound/ 225 grams per week. You may crave certain foods and you may notice an increased (but not bloody) vaginal discharge. Both are a normal part of being pregnant." -adopted from BabyCenter Singapore
