A Crazy Week
And I really mean crazy....
Tues - Georgie was down with fever, vomitting and diarrhoea last Tues. Received a phone call from my mum that day and I thought it was just a slight fever. On the way to leaders' mtg that evening, received another phone call again - fever was 38.7 deg. Rushed back home asap.
Wed - his fever was still fluctuating. No diarrhoea - thank God - went to work.
Thurs - I woke up in the middle of night - vomitting and it continued till morn when I decided to report sick for work. Georgie was crying as he started having diarrhoea again. My mum and hubby took him to Thomson PD. I was left at home - vomitting. Went to see a doc for myself. Suspected - stomach flu. For George - doc took a blood test - confirmed it's bacteria infection.
That afternoon - my mum started vomitting and running a fever.
That night - my dad started having diarrhoea... My maid was holding the fort herself and also my hubby, who had to take care of me and the boy..
Fri - The adults were feeling better. However, Georgie was still having diarrhoea. Frequency - 8-9 times that day...
Sat - Georgie having diarrhoea, still 8-9 times. His butt was red and sore. Everything he drank or ate was flushed out, almost half an hr later. He was super exhausted, laid on the mattress the whole day. Couldn't jump up and down, crawl or laugh. He was feeling very 'sian' when we carried him to the toilet to wash him up every few hrs. In fact, it was not just feeling physically strained. I think emotionally, he was feeling embarassed. How do we know? Bcoz the moment he passed out the loose stools, he cried.
Sun - Brought him to an experienced GP. I was quite against at 1st. And bcoz of that, had some disagreements with my mum. The worst and most drama thing happened that night. I was cleaning Georgie, as usual, after he soiled himself in the room, when suddenly I heard my mum cry out 'loud' in her room. She was stressed and worried and angry. Georgie heard the commotion, woke up and cried too. I was vexed, my hubby was shocked, my dad was amused and the maid was at a lost as she did not know who to attend to first.
Anyway, bad reports aside. Thank God that now the nightmare was over. We laid hands on Georgie for several times every night. And the saving grace was actually when we decided to go to a chinese medical shop in the neighbourhood to ask for some advice/tips (out of desperation). The person recommended a medicine powder (cost only $2). I went back to feed Georgie and diarrhoea no more!! Haha... what a mockery to the western medicine which we spent over $100 for all the past clinic consultations.
Thanks for all of you who showed your care and concern thru messages/sms/phone calls. I didn't really reply to your sms as I was very occupied at that moment. :p
